Meet Our Team
Our firm was founded as McCarthy and Associates Inc. in 1972 by J. Patrick "Pat" McCarthy out of his very own home. Pat established the practice on the premise of educating clients on how to financially prepare for retirement. As the practice grew, he was joined by his son-in-law, Keith Blakeman. In 1999, Keith purchased the practice from Pat and formed Blakeman and Associates Inc. with his bride, Mary.
Today, we are known as Five Point Wealth Advisors. As times have changed since our firm was founded, so have our clients' needs. We take a team-based approach to financial planning that allows us to deliver the personal and professional levels of care our clients expect while continuing Pat's legacy of education first.

Steven Deacon, CFP®, CIMA®, CEPA®
CEO, Private Wealth Advisor
Steve Deacon was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a freshman in high school, he learned the value of a dollar when his parents charged him for room and board once he got his first job at the corner deli. He was unaware that this early life lesson would end up shaping his career into what it is today.
Steve attended college at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. After graduating, he started his career in finance as a regional vice president at ING Annuities, and then he went on to work for BlackRock. Throughout his corporate career, he worked with thousands of advisors across the country, learning the value of financial planning and the importance of understanding risk. To enhance his knowledge, Steve attained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification (CFP®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designations. This experience and knowledge were pivotal to understanding the complexities of finance for his clients today.
In 2019, Steve made the transition from the corporate world to personal finance. He took over Blakeman & Associates, a family practice with 40 years of experience in the valley. Steve takes a holistic, personalized approach to creating long-term, meaningful relationships with clients that span across multiple generations.
Outside of business, Steve’s passions include time with family, volunteering with Junior Achievement, and being outdoors. Steve and his college sweetheart, Danielle, have three children— Kyla, Hayden, and Carter—who keep them both very busy. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling, camping, and sports.
His way of doing business has earned him recognition in the finance industry. Steve was named a Forbes Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisor Best in State in 2022.
